PETER’S PENCE COLLECTION POSTPONEMENT
Given the COVID-19 pandemic, Pope Francis has determined that this year’s Collection will be transferred throughout the world to the weekend of October 3-4, 2020 (27th Sunday ofOrdinary Time). You can save your envelopes until that time and simply change the date.
Parish Offices Closed
All parish offices will be closed beginning Tuesday, March 24th, until further notice. If there is an emergency, you should call the Office at (203) 268-6217 and leave a message or send an e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org).
For homebound parishioners who need the Anointing of the Sick (Last Rites), please call or e-mail. However, if a person has been diagnosed with the coronavirus or if there is a reason that a person could have been exposed to it, priests should not put themselves at risk of catching the virus by administering the Sacrament. Those who have the virus and are in hospitals or nursing homes should be anointed by the priest chaplain at that institution if permitted by the administration of that institution according to the guidelines issued by the Center for Disease Control and the State of Connecticut.
The Diocese will continue to work with the chaplains and institutions to meet the pastoral needs of their residents. You are all in my daily prayers and at Mass.
Hours for Church Visitation
All liturgies and social events in the parish have been cancelled. We will have confessions by appointment only. For Baptisms, Funerals, or Anointing of the Sick, please call the parish office for information. All the Mass intentions scheduled during this time will be fulfilled, although the Masses will be private.
We pray in a very special way for all those whose lives have been affected in a major way. Our prayers never stop!
