The Music Ministry
supports the sung prayer of the assembly, and often provides enhancement
through choral pieces. We boast two adult ensembles, a Junior Choir, and a
three-member Saturday evening ensemble. These ensembles include seven
cantors who serve the assembly and proclaim the psalms in song. |
| |
|
If you sing or play an
instrument, please come to a rehearsal (times and days are listed in the
parish bulletin) or call Music Director, Barb Upton. If you want to
sing, you don’t have to audition nor do you have to be able to read music.
The only prerequisites are a love of music, the desire to serve our
community, and the ability to regularly attend rehearsals and Masses. |

Junior Choir |
|
The Junior Choir,
comprised of second through eighth graders, sings at the 9:30 am Mass on the
first Sunday of each month, October through June. They generally rehearse
two Sundays per month, between the 9:30 and 11:30 am Masses. They provide
the music for the 4:00 pm Christmas Eve Mass and join the adult groups for
the Easter Vigil. Extra rehearsals take place before Christmas and
before Easter. |

Adult
Ministry |
|
The adult music ministry
currently rehearses at 8:00 pm on Monday nights, September to June.
Rehearsals normally last 1 to
1 ½
hours. |
| |
|
Saturday evening 5:15 Mass, features a three-person ensemble, including two
guitarists/vocalists and a pianist/vocalist. Additional vocalists, cantors
and/or woodwind players would be nice additions to this group. |
| |
|
The
Schola is a contemporary ensemble of vocalists accompanied by piano, guitar,
woodwinds, and occasionally, brass. Male voices are needed. The Schola
participates in the 9:30 am Sunday Mass, except on the first Sunday of the
month when the Junior Choir takes over |
| |
|
The
11:30 am Sunday Mass choir is accompanied by organ and other instruments.
All voices as well as cantors are needed. |
| |
|
All
the adult groups come together for the parish celebrations of Confirmation
and the Triduum and other important parish celebrations. |
