Mission Statement |
|
Our goal is to teach as Jesus did. 1) To support and assist parents who
are the children’s “primary religious educators.” 2) To offer the
opportunity for faith to come alive for children through prayer and
sacraments. 3) To call our families to full, active, conscious
participation in the Eucharist and in the parish community of St. Stephen. |

|
Faith formation is a process that begins at birth and continues to the end
of life. Weekly class attendance promotes continuity in their faith
formation. For this reason, any more than three (3) unexcused absences may
result in your child repeating the year. Please call the Faith Formation
office when your child is going to be absent. This is considered an
excused absence. |
|
|
|
|
|
Arriving on time is a courtesy. Please make every effort to arrive on
time; and, after class, please pick up on time. |
|
|
|
|
|
For the
safety of our children, parents must bring their child(ren) to their
classrooms and will be released only to the person(s) designated on your
registration form. Please inform the catechist if this changes. Parents
are asked to go to the classrooms to pick up their children immediately
after classes are dismissed. |

|
Each teacher will
determine what will be acceptable behavior in his/her classroom. An
orderly and respectful atmosphere is necessary for effective teaching. If
the child’s behavior is disruptive he/she will be sent to the office for
the duration of the class. A repetition of similar behavior will result in
a meeting with the parent, child, teacher, and director. Lack of
improvement in the child’s behavior could result in a request for the
child to be taught at home or parental presence in the classroom. |

We expect
families to celebrate the Eucharist each week with our parish community.
It is central to the life of the Catholic family. Remember, families that
pray together stay together! |
